“Our memory is all we truly have that’s our own. Each present moment we experience is fleeting, and the future is but a potential memory, waiting to become the present - or not. Apart from the tangible things we leave behind, it’s up to the tenuous, ultimately fallible memories of those we know to survive us. For me, photography has always been more about responding to, and making tangible, what I see and experience, and less about telling a story or illustrating a concept. That, coupled with a desire to refine each image to its essence - whatever it may be - to create as pure an image as possible.”
